Oh, the iron(y).
April 24, 2008 Ten-to-two in the morning. That's how much time I have for maintaining this site...and how much I care, all in one. I should be sleeping like sane people do at this hour. But no, I'm dedicated. It's all for you, baby. You and the other three people that'll read this post. Either that, or I'm desparately seeking attention because I'm the 4th of 5 children. Who knows and who cares?
Oh, sure...I wish I had the time to muse about something art-related right now, but let's face it...I don't. Let's see...what kind of exciting art related things happened to ol' Mister Koppa over the past lunar cycle? Hmmm...I performed ten songs for a handful of people at Mars Cafe in Des Moines... but more importantly finally met Tim Faye over in Anamosa, Iowa. He publishes a letterpress printed almanac using a gigantic prehistoric press he learned how to operate without the guidance of a foreman or a manual. Two Huber Bocks amongst lots of iron and a good new friend on a Sunday afternoon? Positive.
Speaking of prehistoric iron, I could tell you a great story about how I acquired a pre-1980 Cub Cadet to keep the lawn down and the ticks at bay out at Heavy Duty Acres, but I don't have the time to write it, so too bad for you. But I will let you admire the machine.
Lastly, if it wasn't for men with musical genius like Jens Lekman, I think I'd probably have gone completely nuts over the last lunar cycle. His show at The Pabst in Milwaukee was precisely what the doctor ordered.
I love planting time. Thank God there's spring.
