With the definition of art as "the arrangement of things in space" being the best I've ever heard, I stick to it. It's amazing how much ground that covers. In these lunar blogs I illustrate it best I can.
My friend, Steinke, R.I.P.
December 18, 2008 Five minutes before the 19th, this post is about six days late. Plenty else to think about the past few weeks. My friend Greg was killed in a car wreck in snowy weather about two weeks ago.
We called him Steinks. Last time we were all together we played sheepshead, as usual, and listened to The Lamb in its entirety. Stienke and I were prog rock fans. When it all sunk in, I melted on the playroom floor while listening to the last track on it, and realized that the one thing I could still do for him was make his memorial card.
I like typography. Steinks was the kind of guy who thought whatever you liked was cool, no matter what it was. A sweet sweet man we will all miss. But a spirit we can all share.
