WHAT IS TRUTH?

The title says it all. Some of my friends and I have been debating this election since it started. The biggest debater is the owner of this site and yours truly. All we see is the political ads, what the media and talk radio tell us and what the candidates themsleves say in their speeches. How do we know any of it is the truth? They even have shows dedicated to picking apart their speeches or slogans and researching what is the truth or how much of it is....

So you are thinking that I am going to tell you what is the truth...Nope. Can't. How the hell do I know what is the truth? All I can go off if is what their records have been and what they plan to do. Alot of the media talk about what the candidates have done in the past as a window to what they might do in the future. Is that a good measure of what these guys (and gal) are all about? Dont have the answer to that one either.

All I can tell you is what I think--really, isnt this an editorial type thing? You all know I am for McCain and I think Obama is a wacko. The owner of this site, Mr. Koppa and I get in some spirited debates on this stuff. So lets get to it:

Lets just compare the the two tickets in my eyes. Yes--it is bias but you know what, I am taking the time to write this thing, so I can say anything I want. Want to reply, Koppa will give you my email.

Ladies first--the Obama/Biden ticket. Here is a 2 yr senator who has a Harvard education and has been a community activist. That is it. That is the good. Now the bad is some of the company he keeps: A flipped out minister and a shady real estate tycoon that gave Obama a SWEET deal on the property next to Obama's estate. Not saying that this is all that important or whatever--who cares type of thing right? Well--you cant come up with comparable characters on the other tickets dinner party list! So--its relavant. They looked into charitable contributions for the candidates. Most of the little that Obama gave to charity was to the church of this wacko minister. So--they were friends--dont tell me it isnt relavant. Dont we talk to our kids about the friends you keep? Sure, might not grow up like them but doesnt help the odds. Then you have Biden who has made a life out of being a senator. Yes--McCain has too but he has more of a resume. Biden ran for president too at one time--got nowhere. The Obama/Biden ticket is a handsome one. Both well spoken even though we will see Biden put his foot in his mouth several times before this is all over. Just the policies of these guys---the policies. They are all wrong. They wont work. I see Obama as a cross between the Messiah and Robin Hood. He is a superstar with Hollywood dinners at $28,000 a plate when the stock market is crashing. He is going to part the seas and steal from the rich to give to the poor. Yeah--he is one of us. Right. Yeah--McCain's wife is rich--he is smart. Married into it. Yea Ha.

McCain/Palin. Here we have a war hero who is quite old--give you that. But the man's history is honorable. He is a long time senator like Biden but if you look at that history in the Senate--he is a maverick to his own party. Talk about more of the same with McCain? Cmon....he has voted against his party more than voted with it. Side note: When you talk about who has reached across the aisle to work with the other side more--it is no contest. Sure you can say that Obama has only been there for 2 years right?--No, even in percentages--McCain has alot of democrats on his bills--more than republicans. It is undeniable that McCain will work better with the Democrats than Obama will with the Republicans. Isnt this campaign about unity and bringing the country together? Then you have Palin-hockey Mom. Sure being blasted for her experience. Mayor of a small town and Governor of a low populated State. But damn she is good looking and she has energized the Republican conservative base. She has energized woman, she has engerized the common folk. Without her--McCain looses. With her--I think he wins. Sure she is not a real politician, she doesnt have alot of experience but I am sorry--either does the other guy. So take that off the table and she actually has some heavy responsibilities as being a Governor--she manages something! All three of the others can't say they do that. She has the largest National Guard in the country, large natural resources department because of the miles of ocean front, and huge into energy. I think she brings some pretty good stats to the table. Plus--she is better looking than all of them put together. Cmon--give us conservatives that--she is hot!

The tickets are severely different--that is true but the issues, the issues are totally opposite. Watch the debates--that will be the test. Next month, I will outline some differences in the issues. I dont want to make this too long.... Until next time.
