c014 Century Old Style
1998
Of the four one-of-a-kind collages (as opposed to those included in the "and when a train goes by" series) that immediately followed the aforementioned series, this and collage number 15 somehow stand out as signature pieces of that early period (as if I have earned the right to have "periods"). It is given that status because it illustrates what I like to think might be a trademark childlike amusement found in something as silly as the placement of a horse in a speeding train. This collage was also featured in a series of slides that served as the backdrop for six songs performed by Kev Koch and yours truly, as "Two Thirds of Sylvania Lark" at Common Cround Cafe in Viroqua in November of 2003. This one belongs to my generous patrons, Andy and Mina Tenaglia, owners of Lagniappe Brasserie in New Berlin, Wisconsin. Mr. Tenaglia is the famed author of Andy's Hunch on What to Munch which appeared in every full-size issue of The Sphere.
