Funny how something as noisy and obnoxious as an airplane came to become (came to become?) a symbol of peace in my work after the jets crashed into the World Trade Center and commercial flights were grounded for three days, ironically giving everyone (especially those of us who lived near airports and had become accustomed to big ol' jet airliners flying overhead every 10 minutes once in while) the creeps. Now I really got the creeps.
