Collage: The Art of Surprise

by Mike Koppa last modified 2009-09-08 08:00

Constructed by the bare hands of Mr Koppa using commercially printed paper predating the bicentenial of the United States of America, compact discs, and, yes, the world wide web. Paper from the age of print. Paper from the machine age. Lots of us didn't live in the machine age. Some of us did. Are you one of the machine people? Or are you one of the digital people? Anybody remember Digital Derby[1]? Not too digital.

Art is the relationship of things in a space, and collage is the art of surprise.
I am attracted to a variety of images for lots of different of reasons, both
consciously and subconsciously. Through free association, I stumble upon
strange relationships that may mean something or nothing, but always
satisfy my craving for amusement.
