October 5, 2009 Neil Young has apparently taken a turn for the positive. This year at Farm Aid, Mr Young tore off his trademark red STOP FACTORY FARMS t-shirt in super hero fashion to reveal a green GO FAMILY FARMS t-shirt (designed by yours truly) given to him earlier in the day by Organic Valley farmer Jason Stensland. If you, too, would like to show your support for organic family farms (please do), you can get the original organic cotton GO FAMILY FARMS t-shirt from the Organic Valley General Store.

HEAVY DUTY NEWS The Heavy Duty Press website will be updated quarterly (as opposed to the former lunarly updates of the past year or so) in 2010. As explained in previous scribblings, the time to set up the letterpress again is finally upon us, and that means spending a lot less time on the computer. Thank God.

Because the next update is not scheduled until late January 2010, it is worth noting here that we all will be treated to a once-in-a-blue-moon special this year: with two full moons in December 2009, an extra-unusual Blue Moon will preside over the night sky on New Year's Eve 2009! How many more reasons do you need to party?
